Why it Matters!!

If you went to the dentist to get a tooth examined and the doctor asked you to bend over, it would be apparently obvious this might not be the dental office you should visiting for your dental needs. As humerous as that would be, it is less then humerous when dealing with the issues that determine where you will spend eternity. Knowing where to turn in the Bible for your marching orders is not a preference of choice, it is crucial to be on the same page with God concerning what He has to say to YOU in this present dispensation of the Grace of God. God has not always spoken the same things to people at different times....

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets

This verse in Hebrews clearly states God spoke in a variety of times with differing messages, and the scriptures are the evidence. The word "Gospel" simply means the good news, and there is alot of good news throughout the Bible. Adam and Eve were recipients of good news were they not? Noah recieved some good news from the LORD, Moses also got some good news from God as well as the prophets afterward. Jesus Christ, while in His earthly ministry preached the good news of the kingdom being at hand and that is where most people tend to place their focus, and why shouldn't they since the publishing company has emphasized Christ's words in red letters. What people tend to minimize is what God tells us to magnify, and that is Christ's heavenly ministry through the Apostle Paul for US in this present dispensation of the Grace of God! Paul was the recipient of the Gospel of the Grace of God, and this is the one directed toward us.

Adam and Eve were not privy to the information given to Noah concerning the flood. Likewise, Noah could not have known Moses would recieve the information vital to Israel's old covenant. The same way Moses had no information concerning Israel's new testament, none of the prophets had any information about the "revelation of the mystery" given to the Apostle Paul in the 9th chapter of the book of Acts. What we see in this illustration is progressive revelation. The Bible is not a snapshot of the mind of God, rather it is more like a movie, and this movie is a double feature.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

The first verse in your Bible declares God's two programs, one in heaven, one on the earth. From Genesis 1:2 until Paul in the 9th chapter of the book of Acts, God is directing His attention on the earthly program. From Paul until the "catching away" of the body of Christ, God is dealing with His heavenly program. No one before the Apostle Paul had any anticipation of going to heaven when they died, rather, that they would be resurrected upon the earth.

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, THE LORD SAID UNTO MY LORD, SIT THOU ON MY RIGHT HAND,

In Christ's earthly ministry, He taught His disciples to pray that they would go to heaven?...no, no no. Jesus taught His followers to pray for the Kingdom to come to earth!

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Before Christ's ascention into heaven, the disciples were all gathered together and what did they ask him? "can we go to heaven also"? nope, rather they asked what their good news was focused upon, that being the earthly, Messianic, Davidic Kingdom in Zion with Jesus seated on David's throne, with the 12 Apostles on 12 thrones ruling over the 12 tribes of Israel having dominion on the earth.

Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

In short, Jesus answered them with a not yet. Jesus knew something that Peter, James, John and the other disciples could have never imagined possible because it was kept secret until revealed to one man, the Apostle Paul in the 9th chapter of Acts. What is this secret information?

Romans 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

It never crossed anyone's mind, nor was it ever spoken by any of the holy prophets that salvation for anyone could be achieved other then through the institution of the nation Israel. But that is exactly what took place, and that is where we are today! So, when you go to your Bible for information pertaining to salvation today and the doctrines associated with your marching orders, it is not a choice you can make according to your likes and dislikes, it MUST be according to the information God has given to us pertaining to this present dispensation of the Grace of God from Jesus Christ to the Apostle Paul for usward! You cannot go back to the OT books of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John because you like what is said or the promises given to Israel. God has moved past that, has set it aside and is now dealing with people according to the doctrines given to Paul.

Adam and Eve knew nothing about building and Ark.
Noah knew nothing about the 10 commandments.
Moses knew nothing about God writing the laws in Israel's mind and causing them to keep His statues.
Israel did not have clue of their fall and the result being salvation would come to the gentiles.

It is only through the information given to the Apostle Paul from the risen Lord Jesus Christ that a soul can be saved in this present dispensation of the Grace of God. Paul ALONE is the Apostle to the gentiles. Paul ALONE has our doctrines and marching orders, Paul ALONE tells us that when we die we are present with the Lord. Paul ALONE tells us we are not associated with the law, but under grace...and so on....

The Gospel

1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which WE are saved

1 Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

That's what we need!!! The gospel that saves a never dying soul, what is this gospel????

1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

That's it!!!! Christ died for your sins, was buried, and He rose the 3rd day.....the gospel of YOUR salvation!!!

Now what do I do? confess my sins?....ask Jesus into my heart?....make Jesus Lord?....get water baptized?....join a church?....no, no, no and no!!

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Step 1...you hear the word of truth, the gospel of YOUR salvation...(1 Cor. 15:1-4)
Step 2...you believe the Gospel...
Step 3...you trust by faith...
Step 4...you are saved!! and sealed!!

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Sounds easy doesn't it?....let me remind you, it wasn't a stroll in the park for Jesus Christ to hang on that ugly, nasty, cursed cross, for the penalty we so rightly deserve for our sins. Jesus did everything necessary to save your never dying soul, put your faith in what He has done ALONE!
If you still think it is too easy, then why can't you do it?

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Rightly dividing the word of truth is not an option!!!

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This is the only verse in the entire Bible where we are admonished to "study" God's word and not only are we told to study the material, but it explains how we are to study it by rightly dividing the word of truth. And almost everyone that is familiar with the verse has no idea what is meant by "rightly divide" the word of truth and will usually say things such as rightly handle or properly explain the word when it clearly says in the verse to "rightly divide" the word of truth.. We can all agree that the Bible is God's word and all of the Bible is truth, what needs to be determined is where are the right divisions in the word of truth that produces unashamed workmanship. The only option would be to wrongly divide or fail to divide altogether with the result being shameful workmanship, and nobody would want to do that, would they?

We have already concluded in the previous post, the Bible contains both Old Testament and New Testament scriptures , what people fail to understand or see is that there is another portion of scripture which is neither Old or New Testament, but that which was kept secret since the world began but is NOW made manifest... that being the "revelation of the mystery"given to the Apostle Paul for usward. What constitutes "right division" is seperating the prophetic scriptures given to the nation Israel from that which was kept secret, the "mystery" information given to the Apostle Paul for us in this present dispensation of the Grace of God. Let's look at the evidence.

The thrust of the prophetic scriptures are focused on the RISE of Israel into their Kingdom on the earth, and through THEIR rise, the Gentiles would be blessed. Even as late as Acts 3, Peter was quoting Genesis 26:4 saying...Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. What the Apostle Peter was preaching was Acts 3:21...spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets (pay attention the last 4 words) SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN. Now, let's look at what the Apostle Paul was preaching...Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret ( here are those 4 words again) SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN,...Peter preached what everybody knew, Paul preached what NOBODY knew, that can NOT be the same thing. The keystone in rightly dividing is what Paul explains in Romans 11:11 stating that through the FALL of Israel, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Prophecy and Mystery are mutually exclusive! The fall of Israel was never prophecied or even considered, it was kept secret until revealed to the Apostle Paul. Due to the fact Israel has fallen and is not in view any longer, the doctrines associated with the RISE of Israel into their kingdom cannot be the same as the doctrines associated with the Church, the body of Christ which is a product of their FALL.

Since WE are not Israel rising into their prophecied Kingdom, naturally our instructions are different from theirs and mutually exclusive. We must of necessity pay particular attention to the instructions God has dispensed for our marching orders in this present dispensation of the Grace of God. The Apostle Paul was chosen by Christ to be the Apostle, minister, teacher to the Gentiles during this dispensation which began in the 9th chapter of the book of Acts. Paul retells the events of chapter 9 in Acts 26:13-17....Acts 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,....Paul was sent to the Gentiles! Ephesians 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, ......and what was Paul sent to tell us?....Ephesians 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:....how did you get this information Paul?....Ephesians 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,......ahhhh...the "revelation of the mystery".....are you beginning to see it yet??

The reason for such confusion today is due solely to the failure to heed to the instruction given us by OUR Apostle, Paul, in which we are told to "rightly divide" the word of truth. In order to due so, of course we must study the word, and we should also adhere to the divisions the Lord has placed in His word and not those divisions based upon tradition. The scriptures are our authority and should be recognized as such.

Paul declares that he was the last to see Christ...1 Corinthians 15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time......and that Paul was the "me first" to recieve the revelation of the mystery...1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting....and that he (Paul) is our pattern.....the due time testifyer...1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Paul was not preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom as Peter ,James ,John and even Jesus was preaching in the OT books of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, but rather that which he recieved from the RISEN Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

Galatians 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

When Paul met with Peter, James and John in the 15th chapter of the book of Acts as recounted in Galatians chapter 2, a division was made....Galatians 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision..........we would be wise in making the same distinction and division......Not only do we see the seperation of the Apostles, but also the seperation of the Gospels. Peter, James and John as well as Jesus was preaching the "Gospel of the Kingdom",...Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people..... Paul alone was preaching what he called the "Gospel of the Grace of God"......Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

This should be a good start for seeing that there are more divisions in the Bible than just OT and NT. The next post will detail the importance of rightly dividing word of truth and why it matters for the understanding of salvation as God is offering it to us today. God has not always dealt with people in the same manner and it extremely important to be on the same page as God as He sets forth in His Word!

Wrongly dividing the word of truth?

Well, nobody gets out of bed, putting their shoes on the right feet, and then goes to their Bible to study the material with the idea of "wrongly" dividing the word of truth, but that is exactly what happens if you are not heeding to the instruction given by the Apostle Paul to us operating in this present dispensation of the Grace of God.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Everybody that is engaged in studying the Word of God sincerely believes they are following this instruction, and the truth is, they are not. We can all agree that the Bible contains both Old Testament scriptures and New Testament scriptures, and of course that is one point of division in the Bible. Herein lies the problem. The publishers of all versions of the Bible has placed within the pages of God's Word two uninspired pages, one saying OLD TESTAMENT, the other saying NEW TESTAMENT. Unfortuneatly, both pages are placed in the wrong location.

Almost all, if not all Bibles have a page before Genesis 1:1 that says "OLD TESTAMENT", which could not be possible knowing that the old testament does not begin for another 59 chapters in Exodus 19 when God makes the Old Covenant with the children of Israel. Here is my suggestion, put that page in your Bible that says "OLD TESTAMENT" between your thumb and index finger and tear it out, place it between Exodus 18 and 19 , then you will have a correct placement of that page.

Likewise, when you turn to Mathew 1:1, the previous page placed in your Bible , not by God, but by a publishing company, says "NEW TESTAMENT", and once again, this cannot be correct knowing the content of Hebrew 9:15-17 which declares a testament is in force after men are dead, it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. Apparently, the publishers have missed this Bible truth, placing the page indicating the NT at the birth of , instead of after the death of the testator which is Jesus Christ. Once again, take the page saying "NEW TESTAMENT" between your thumb and index finger and tear it out. This time, tear it into four equal pieces, place one piece in Mathew 27, one piece in Mark 15, one piece in Luke 23, and the last piece in John 20. At this point, you have corrected an egregious error in your Bible. Not an error in God's inspired, perfectly preserved words, but that which was placed by the publisher.

Have you figured out what has just happened? Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are declared OT. not by me, but by the authority of God's word. Have you been going to these books claiming it to be doctrine for us today in this present dispensation of the Grace of God when in truth it is OT doctrine for Israel? Is your church or denomination named after an OT law abiding Jew who never one day in his life heard or knew anything about the Gospel of the Grace of God wherein we have our salvation today? Are you claiming to be a John 3:3 "born again" believer when in fact, if you are saved today, you are a "new creation"? Something "again" cannot be the same as something that is "new", they are even spelled differently! Is your salvation of the Jews? as stated in John 4:22, or is your salvation based upon you being good as declared in John 5:29? That does not say the same thing as Ephesians 2:8-9 or Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

In order not to give you an informational overload, I will end this post here. The next post will deal with "rightly dividing the word of truth" as stated in 2 Timothy 2:15 . Clearly, there is within the pages of your Bible, OT and NT, what most people overlook is a third section of scripture which is neither OT or NT , but that which was kept secret from the foundation of the world but NOW is made manifest!.....I will attempt to demonstrate what it is, where it is, and why it matters. If you are saved today, it is the result of what is written within those pages!

Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
