Are You Saved???

Has anyone ever asked you that question before? How did you reply to them? What did you say? Even better, have you ever asked someone that question? Can you tell someone how a soul is saved? Where would you turn in the Bible to present the Gospel that saves a soul. Do you think we can know we are saved? Do you think we have to "endure unto the end" to be saved? Do you think salvation can be lost or given up? Hey, just tell me what you think or tell me how YOU were saved.

  1. Yes. According to Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  2. Thanks for the comment!!!....What could be more important than knowing where one will spend eternity?...I cannot think of any one issue that needs to be dealt with on a personal level more so than that of salvation. This issue should be settled promptly and correctly so that one has the assurance of eternal life, without doubt and without error. Thanks be unto God for delivering to us exactly what He would have us to have in the authorized King James Bible, with not as much as one mistake in it, perfectly preserved in the English language, a perfect Bible.

It was good to see your response utilizing the text in the KJB. Many folks today have traded their authorized version for a "new, newer, newest" versions which do not originate from the same manuscripts as the King James, but is taken from the corrupted manuscripts used by every other version since 1851. But that is another topic which deserves investigation so that you will be fully persuaded in your own mind as well.

Many people have used the Romans road in their persuit to see a soul saved, not realizing that this road ends in a ditch. When you approach scripture, some things that are crucial to your understanding should be...who is speaking...to whom are they speaking...and do you fit in the audience being spoken to. Without doubt, the apostle Paul is the apostle to the gentiles, the apostle given the information and doctrine in this present dispensation of the Grace of God where there is neither Jew nor Gentile....and at the same time...Paul's hearts desire is that Israel would be saved. At the time Romans was written, Israel was blinded, stumbling, and falling. At this present time, Israel is not in view forasmuch as they have been fallen for quite a while.
Romans 1 deals with the creation from Genesis and deals with gentile failure....Romans 2 deals with the establishment of Israel and the Jewish failure..Romans 3, both Jew and Gentile concluded under sin and the introduction of the propitiation...Romans 4 deals with justification, Romans 5 deals with imputation, Romans 6 declares us dead to the law, Romans 7 decalres us free from the law, Romans 8 is the victory lap ,then,,,,,,,,
Romans 9, Paul turns his affection to his "kinsmen in the flesh"....Israel! and deals with Israel's past.
Romans 10, Paul with dealing with Israel's present state during that time..Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
Romans 11, Paul speaks to Israel about their future...Romans 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:...Romans 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
Romans 12-16 is doctrinal application from chapters 1-8.
With careful reading, it is plain that Romans 10:9-10 is not applicable to us in this present dispensation of the Grace of God and were written in regards to Israel's covenant situation.
If you take notice the wording in the text..."thou shalt be saved" does not speak to a present pocession of salvation, but a future event. Also, the "confess with thy mouth" is always associated with a covenant...the "if and then" relationship. We have much better, knowing Jesus has done everything necessary to save our never dying souls and when we trust in His finished work, His death, burial, and resurrection for our souls salvation, we can have what Paul speaks to in Romans 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.....Israel still awaits their day of atonement which Peter speaks to in Acts 3:19-21.

I'm gonna close this out now knowing it is getting long, but this is so important and cannot be addressed in few words. I would like to give you this scripture which describes the salvation transaction.....Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

When we trust Christ, believe the Gospel of OUR salvation (1st Corinthians 15:1-4) we are saved!!sealed!! and judicially seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph 2:6) blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places (Eph 1:3)..and complete in Christ.(Col 2:10)

Let me know what you think.
    Grace and Peace!
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

  5. Hey Dean, I see you started your own blog. Congrats. I'm sure you'll find plenty to talk about and share here. Actually surprised that the shortest thing I think I've seen you write is your first post. Made me laugh.

    Enjoy your blogging.

  7. Hey Dean, I wonder if you would post why you feel the Authorized 1769 King James Bible is really the best english translation? I've never met anyone who felt as strong about the subject as you do. I use the KJV in a comparative bible with other translations so I can get a better understanding.

  8. Surebeatsworking....that would be a great topic for discussion, I appreciate your interest and suggestion. I hope you will give it careful consideration, evaluate what is put forth, with the result of being fully persuaded in your own mind in the spirit of Romans 14:5.

Most people think all Bibles are just variations in translations of words from the Greek and Hebrew, but the truth is that there are 2 lines of preservation. One line is the Majority text also called the Textus Receptus, and the other line of preservation is that of the corrupted text, the minority text of the Vaticanus Synaiticus which is what Wescott and Hort used which is the text in every translation since 1851. So the variations in Bibles is not a result of the translators per say, but which manuscripts were used in the translation.

I think the next Post will be on my belief system, which I think you will find interesting, and just maybe it will turn on a few light bulbs in your Biblical understanding. When I came to the understanding of "rightly dividing the word of truth"...where the division is made, and how it applies to your position in Christ, and how God is dealing with people today in contrast to "times past" and in "ages to come". It just screams off the page at you....but I will cover this in my next POST....once again, thanks for the suggestion.

    Grace and Peace!
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
